My husband and I have been in Mongolia for over a year now. We are serving as country directors for Deseret International Charities and having some amazing experiences.
We just finished hosting an ophthalmologist from America and his wife, Dr. Roger and Beverly Harrie who came to Mongolia to teach ophthalmologists how to diagnose and refer patients who have diabetic retinopathy. Deseret International Charities donated about $70,000 worth of vision equipment to a clinic and a government hospital: two new Argon lasers, a high-end microscope, a laptop, an ophthalmoscope, ten 90-diopter lenses, etc. Dr. Harrie taught doctors from many of the provinces here in Mongolia! It was amazing.
